Double Shield
Double Shield is GRF’s calcium chloride desiccant in a double enclosure: the Dry Box sachet goes inside a second sachet, made of non-woven fabric. Two walls between the gel and your cargo instead of one.
Supplied in strips of 3 sachets with a hook, to be hung on the container walls during stuffing.
How it works
The same desiccant, inside a second sachet
The active principle is the same as Dry Box: calcium chloride captures water vapor from the air and dissolves in the water it absorbs, forming an aqueous solution that the gelling agent locks as a gel inside the sachet. The moisture stays immobilized and is not released back into the container atmosphere.
What changes is the packaging. In Double Shield the desiccant sachet is placed inside a second, non-woven sachet that acts as an outer containment layer. Non-woven fabric is vapor permeable: humid air passes through it and reaches the desiccant, so the second layer does not reduce absorption.
In practice it is extra margin for real stuffing conditions — the product is hung, knocked against the cargo and travels for weeks swaying inside the container. The outcome is unchanged: less condensation, less mold, less corrosion and fewer deformed packages on arrival.

What is the difference between Double Shield and Dry Box?
The desiccant is the same: calcium chloride with a gelling agent, absorbing moisture from the air and locking it as a gel. The difference is the packaging. In Dry Box the desiccant sits in one sachet; in Double Shield that sachet goes inside a second, non-woven sachet acting as an outer containment layer.
Does Double Shield suit the same cargo as Dry Box?
Yes. It protects export, import and coastal shipping containers against moisture, from loading to delivery — the same application as Dry Box.
How is it applied inside the container?
The strips are hung by the hook on the container walls, high up, before the doors are closed. Quantity and placement depend on the route, transit time and cargo type.
